Bovine Bone Broth

Now, don’t be ridiculous—bone broth isn’t so magical that it will single-handedly keep sickness, boogers, and hacking coughs at bay (or maybe it will?), but it will help your body heal more easily under stress.

Ingredients:

  • Bovine bones with marrow

  • Clean water (I use reverse osmosis)

  • 1 onion

  • 2 celery stalks

  • 4 cloves garlic

  • 2 carrots

  • Celtic sea salt, to taste

  • Freshly cracked pepper

Instructions:

1. Bake the bones at 350°F for 20 minutes to pull the marrow away.

2. While that’s happening, toss onion, carrot, celery, garlic, salt, and pepper into a crockpot. (No need to chop—just throw them in whole. No rules here. They’re just there to add flavor.) 3. Add the baked bones into the crockpot with the veggies.

4. Pour in clean water—about an inch below the bones (the veggies break down and everything will submerge in due time).

5. Low and slow, friends. Cook for 24 hours on low.

6. Let cool, strain, and pour into pint mason jars.

7. Let cool completely. The fat will rise to the top—this is a good thing. It acts as a natural seal, keeping it fresh for months in the fridge.

Heads up: Once chilled, your broth will likely turn into a gelatinous, jiggly situation—don’t panic, that’s the good stuff! The gelatin is pure collagen, exactly what you want for gut and joint health. Once warmed up, it thins back out into liquid gold.

You can also grab store-bought bone broth, but read the ingredients! Some brands sneak in garbage like “caramel coloring”—skip those.
